Rhodora (Dori) Maganito poses next to a statue of the Charlie Brown and Snoopy in Santa Rosa’s historic Railroad Square. The California Visitor’s Bureau housed in the old train depot behind. They gave us some of our souvenir bags and many of the souvenirs that were included. In the background, you can see the autumn colors of California. Mostly green, but some red and gold, autumn trees added to the scenery of this spectacular part of the world.

L-R: Natica Angilly, USA; (b) Tanya Joyce, USA; Ajayakumar Kutticutt, India; Nancy Merritt, USA; Wanda Ingmire, USA; Katherine Wilson, USA; Alisha Rodrigues, USA; Gil Yuzon, Philippines, Cathy Dana, USA, Rex Valentine, USA. Amelia Fielden, Australia; Peter Lee, Korea/USA.

No two group photos had the same poets. No group photo had everyone. No photos were taken in the ice arena, the Warm Puppy Cafe, or the gift shop. We were all having way too much fun!

Tanya Joyce gave a flowing presentation at the Snoopy Labyrinth. From the ground it looks like nothing. However, these stones and the cement bench are parts of Snoopy’s ear.

Charles Schulz, creator of the Peanuts comic strip that features Charlie Brown and Snoopy, lived for many years in the Santa Rosa area. For a few years, he and Judy Cheung taught Sunday School in the same Methodist Church in nearby Sebastopol. He taught older teens and adults. Judy taught kindergarten, and had two of his daughters in her class.
