Autumn Beauty

Renato .B. AIzadon

Come, sit next to me oh' my love

In this rusty bench made of steel,

Let us watch the falling leaves of Autumn

How beauttiful--- and yet, so real!

Others mayy say, it won't be long

No more leaves to see...lt's Winter,

Others may say ---just like a song

Summer is gone! We miss Summer !

I say think not of Winter cold

Nor grieve for bygone Summer day

Let the beauty of Fall unfold

Enjoy the beauty of today.

Travelers

Renato B. Alzadon

I'm just a Lonely passer by

to this planet that they call earth

grateful for lovely lullaby

of a mother who gave me birth.

I grew up searching for meaning

of this something that they call life---

Life of defeat! Life of winning!

Regardless to the pain and strife?

There is a war going on in street

fighting in land, in sea, in air...!

where there is war there is defeat

where there's defeat there is despair.

There is no peace for the no name

caught in the webs of cruelty

There is no pride for those in shame

grieving for lost of dignity.

Why can't we live in harmony?

Why can't we live a life sublime?

After all, brothers all are we,

mere travelers in space and time...!

Renato Alzadon arrives in Nicaragua and meets new poets: Mary Rudge of Alameda, CA and Kay Renz (R) of Santa Rosa, CA. He is a long time friend of Ben and Pilar Yuzon
