World brotherhood and peace through poetry

Dr. Benjamin R. Yuzon, Hon.Ph.D, M.E, President of United Poets Laureate International

Benjamin R. Yuzon

UPLI President, Benjamin R. Yuzon, son of UPLI founder Amado M. Yuzon, was born in the Philippines and immigrated with his family to the United States many years ago.  An engineer by profession, he is now retired and dedicates all of his time to UPLI.  He is the fourth president of UPLI, and the diligent archivist for our organization, keeping track of publications, correspondence and all the organizational details to keep UPLI a functional and active part of today’s world.

We welcome new members and hope you all can get to know our long time members as positive, global-thinking poets who step forward with an active voice to promote understanding, peace and brotherhood.  We do not publish work that puts down any person, group or organization. We publish and promote poets and poetry that is uplifting, meaningful and has relevance in improving the world today.

Our Congresses are held around the world, usually once every two years. We welcome all positive thinking poets and hope they will join us in trying to make a difference in the world through their words describing the meaningful aspects of our world, including those not always recognized as beautiful, examples of how to deal with problems in a successful manner, interrelationships with people, animals, environment, the universe--actually, we welcome all topics that attempt to open a door or window to a better life for all human beings. We know about the horrible things in the world. They are already identified. What we need now is poetry to help us understand how to make things better through action, perception and words.
