BIG BROTHER

by John Kolyav

Something whizzes in my brain
A worm? A Bug? Who shot them in?
Brain downloads
extreme nationalism and fanaticism
without my consent
Ah! Be merciful, shoot me, please!

Geosynchronous satellites
straight up
steals my thoughts;
drones hovering overhead
command me dos and don’ts

Can I trust a lizard on my wall?
A grasshopper on my lawn?
A cockroach in my bedroom?

Android robots squeeze me in my nightmares

AI scrutinizes facial expressions
and convey the tyrants
if my thoughts are rebellious

Am I a mere red blood cell
having no nucleus
destined to move
with the pulses of government?
